Floyd Mayweather, one of the greatest boxers of all time, has shared his pick for the current pound-for-pound king, and it’s not world champion Oleksandr Usyk or his former rival Canelo Alvarez.

Mayweather, who retired with a flawless 50-0 record, is not only known for his technical brilliance in the ring but also for his exceptional boxing IQ.

In a recent interview, Mayweather revealed his opinion on the current best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

The undefeated boxing legend believes Terence Crawford holds the top spot in boxing today.

Speaking with Unanimous Decision on Feb. 12, Mayweather praised Crawford’s achievements and highlighted the importance of unity in boxing.

"I think Terence Crawford is the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world right now. He is in a great position and it's good to see. He has a beautiful family. We are all entitled to our own opinion. In the sport of boxing right now, we need to stick together."

Mayweather also reflected on his past and urged fighters to focus on pushing each other toward greatness rather than engaging in social media disputes.

"We need to push each other to be great instead of arguing on social media," he added. "I found myself the younger Floyd Mayweather going back and forth with people, but I'm in a better place."

Crawford, who boasts an undefeated record of 41-0 with 31 knockouts, has long been considered one of the most skilled boxers in the world. The Nebraska-born fighter has held victories over elite opponents such as Amir Khan, Errol Spence Jr., Shawn Porter and Kell Brook.

Looking ahead, Crawford may have an opportunity to further solidify his legacy with a blockbuster fight. Talks have been circulating about a potential showdown against Canelo Alvarez at 168 lbs. The fight is rumored to take place in September 2025.
