In an interview on Spanish TV show "La Revuelta" on Feb. 27, Pique discussed the positive changes in his life following his split from Colombian star singer Shakira and the start of his relationship with Chia.
"I'm really good, really," he said, before revealing about his intimate life with the new girlfriend. I'd say thirty, one a day, and if not, we make up for it. One a day, and if not, we compensate with something more. Eventually, the math works out. I think discussing sex, a taboo topic in this country (Spain), is important. I’m very happy."
Pique noted improvements in his finances, personality and sex life since his breakup with Shakira, with whom he shares two children, Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10.
"I’ve changed styles, as you mentioned before," Pique told host David Broncano. "My style is different now. I’m doing better in both areas. We’re always evolving."
The interview quickly went viral on social media, drawing numerous comments bashing Pique.
Some reactions included: "Tell me a Pinocchio story, please!" "The only reproachable thing in Shakira’s life was getting involved with such a guy", "Tell me what you boast of, and I’ll tell you what you lack", "Not very gentleman-like" and "Even he doesn’t believe it".
While Shakira continues her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour in Colombia with their children, Pique was seen in Morocco with Chia at the Kings World Cup Nations, a new project by his company Kosmos.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Pique would spend time in Miami to take care of his children. This sparked rumors about a strained relationship with Chia, as they would be separated for nearly two months during Shakira's Latin American tour. However, their recent trip to Morocco seems to have dispelled all doubts about the status of their relationship.
Pique, 38, is considered one of the best defenders of his generation. He has a decorated career, including three Champions League and nine La Liga titles. He also represented Spain 102 times, winning the 2010 World Cup and 2012 Euros.
He announced to retire from professional football career in November 2022. But in January 2024, he shared on social media his plan on returning to it, as a coach.
