MMA superstar Conor McGregor was filmed spitting in the face of a man who voiced support for his longtime rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In the video posted on X recently, McGregor is seen walking through a shopping mall when the man shouts "Let’s go Khabib." The 36-year-old Irish star immediately turned around, confronted the individual and spat at him from close range. As McGregor walked away, he looked back and said: "I spit in your face. What you do? Nothing."

Last week McGregor reignited his feud with Nurmagomedov by posting racist slurs on social media which he later deleted and claimed that he no longer cares about his rival.

Nurmagomedov and McGregor went head to head at the UFC 229 in October 2018 and the Russian fighter came out on top with a victory.

After the fight, there were a brawl involving both camps, prompting the Nevada State Athletic Commission to issue penalties to both Nurmagomedov and McGregor.

McGregor also attacked Nurmagomedov’s bus in New York in the same month, which put him in court.

Nurmagomedov gloated when McGregor lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. The Irishman sparked controversy when he responded by insulting Nurmagomedov’s late father and coach Abdulmanap, who passed away at 57 in July 2020 due to Covid-19.

This was also the reason why Nurmagomedov decided to retire at the end of last year. He left the sport with an undefeated 29-0 record (13-0 in the UFC), having claimed the UFC lightweight title in 2018 and defended it three times, including victories over McGregor, Poirier and Justin Gaethje.

McGregor, who fractured his ankle in the loss to Poirier, has not competed professionally since. Holding a 22-6 record, he is the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously, in featherweight and lightweight.

He is also known as the pay-per-view king, having headlined five of the UFC’s highest-grossing events. In 2021, Forbes named McGregor the world’s highest-paid athlete, with earnings of $180 million.

Though McGregor is best known for his MMA exploits, it was his 2017 boxing match against Floyd Mayweather that launched him to global stardom. Despite losing by TKO in the tenth round, McGregor reportedly earned around $100 million for the crossover fight.
