Since moving to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo and Georgina had maintained a relatively normal life. However, Portuguese and Spanish media reported that they recently received alarming messages with specific and severe threats, disrupting the couple's life.
Sources indicate that Ronaldo's family has strengthened security measures at their residence, hiring four new bodyguards and two additional security personnel, EDATV reported. They have also relocated to a safer home in Riyadh, equipped with a shelter and a state-of-the-art surveillance system.
Georgina's daily life has been completely altered, as she now limits public appearances and is always accompanied by security.
The veteran forward has also become more cautious when going out, always having bodyguards with him, even at sporting events.
Saudi police are investigating the origins of these threats and are not ruling out the possibility of an organized criminal group being involved, E-Notícies reported. Ronaldo's club Al Nassr is also supporting him by providing resources to protect him and his family.
The couple has also refrained from sharing images of their children on social media out of fear that they might be targeted.
During Ronaldo's birthday celebration in early February, Georgina used heart emojis to cover the faces of their children, except for their eldest son Cristiano Jr.
