PSG and Moroccan football star Achraf Hakimi talked about his close relationship with his mother, nearly two years after it was revealed that she manages his assets, a controversial decision following his divorce.
In a recent interview on the ABtalks podcast, the PSG star addressed rumors about his financial situation following his 2023 divorce from actress Hiba Abouk. At the time, reports emerged that Hakimi had placed all his assets under his mother's name, and Abouk was surprised with this reveal.
"Since I started earning money as a young player, my mother has been in charge of everything," Hakimi said. "She helped me make the right choices when I didn’t know how to manage my finances. It had nothing to do with marriage or divorce, it’s just the way things have always been."

"My money is her money, and I trust her completely," he added.
Hakimi spoke affectionately about his mother’s major influence on his life and career.
"She means everything to me," he said as quoted by Morocco World News. "In a family, the mother is the backbone. She leads and keeps everything together. My mother has been my biggest source of motivation. I know she feels proud of me, and I work hard to keep making her proud."
Hakimi, 26, is widely regarded as one of the world’s best full-backs. He began his career at Real Madrid, went on loan to Borussia Dortmund, and later joined Inter Milan in 2020, where he helped secure the Serie A title. In 2021, he signed with PSG, making over 100 appearances and scoring 15 goals for the club.
