In the first two matches of the group stage, the Philippines only drew 1-1 with Laos and Myanmar. Therefore, their current goal is to beat Vietnam to take second place in Group B, which belongs to Indonesia, before facing this opponent in the final round on Dec. 21. Vietnam want to beat the Philippines to secure the top spot in Group B.
Vietnam will definitely top the group if they beat the Philippines, regardless of the results of the remaining matches. The team are leading the group after two consecutive wins. Meanwhile, Indonesia are behind with two points less and have played one more match. Laos and the Philippines are third with two points each, while Myanmar have one point.
