Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is reported to be staying in a hotel after discovering his wife, Daniela Jehle, had an affair with her personal trainer, but he has dismissed the rumor.
Ter Stegen and Daniela Jehle married in 2017 after five years of dating and share two children. Last week, the Barca goalkeeper and his wife announced their separation on social media.
Journalist Juliana Canet of the Catalunya Radio claimed the split came after Ter Stegen discovered his wife's affair with her personal trainer.

Canet stated that Ter Stegen and Daniela had been living separately for two months. The German goalkeeper is reportedly staying at the 5-star Hyatt hotel in Barcelona, while his wife continues to live in their family home.
Canet said that the 32-year-old player cited the renovation of the villa they bought last summer as an excuse for his stay in the hotel.
El Nacional added that Daniela had worked with two personal trainers at Edan Studios in Barcelona, owned by Robert Lewandowski's wife Anna.
However, Ter Stegen denied the rumor and criticized Catalunya Radio and 3Cat Group for "distributing false news and violating personal rights." On social media, he stated, "I am shocked and disappointed of the poor management and lack of Leadership and Control at Catalunya Radio & 3Cat Group - distributing false news and violating personal rights."
"Journalists Juliana Canet, Roger Carandell, and Marta Montaner are liars that have distributed false news, offending my wife Daniela and her reputation publicly in a very bad manner," he continued.
"There has not been any infidelity of Daniela. No third person involved. Fact. As communicated, Dani and I have decided to go different ways in good circumstances where we maintain trustful communication. It is completely unacceptable that the leading government-owned media is spreading this, where Daniela being falsely accused and personally been attacked. The damage is irreparable."
In a joint statement on social media last week, Ter Stegen and Daniela said they are focused on doing what is best for their two children, 5-year-old Ben and 1-year-old Tom: "After careful consideration, Dani and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not an easy one, but we both believe it is the best step for us."
"Our joint focus is on doing what is best for our children, ensuring they continue to have a loving and stable environment. We remain committed to working together as parents and treating each other with respect and appreciation as we always have. During this personal time, we kindly ask for your understanding and for respecting our privacy - especially that of our children," they wrote.
Ter Stegen has been out of action since September after completely tearing the patellar tendon in his right knee. Recently, he shared photos of him returning to training and may soon return to the field.
