Ryan Giggs's brother Rhodri recently revealed that he made about £1 million (US$1.23 million) from his ex-wife Natasha's affair with the former Manchester United star.
"Mate, it was over 14 years ago and I've got 2 kids with someone else and made s*** load of money from it," Rhodri Giggs, 49, wrote on social media on Feb. 7, when he was asked about the scandal.
Ryan Giggs, 51, a Man United legend and one of the best wingers of all time, secretly dated his sister-in-law Natasha Lever from 2003. Their relationship was carried out behind the backs of Rhodri and Ryan's then-wife Stacey Cooke until 2011 when it was exposed. Lever admitted to the act after their divorce. This is one of the biggest cheating scandals in football.
"I buzz off it. It was 14 years ago and I made about a million from taking interviews. Can't be on X and not expect a little bit of shrapnel coming your way. All part of the fun," Rhodri added.
Rhodri and Natasha have two children together. He later has two more children with his new partner, while Natasha married a firefighter.
Ryan married Stacey in 2007, and they have two children together before divorcing in 2017. In 2020, the former football star was arrested on two counts of assault against his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville and her sister, Emma Greville. Following the charges, he stepped down from his position as the head coach of Wales in 2022.
Ryan was later cleared of the charges when the prosecution withdrew the charges and Kate did not want to give evidence. In November 2024, Ryan showed off his newborn daughter Cora with his girlfriend Zara Charles, The Sun reported.
In an interview in 2021, Rhodri said that Natasha not only had an affair with his brother but also slept with dozens of footballers. He added: "Ryan deserved to be on a pedestal because of his career. But he ruined his legacy by doing what he did."
Family members also cut ties with Ryan after the affair.
Ryan spent his entire club career from 1990 to 2014 at Man Utd. The 51-year-old played a total of 963 games for the Red Devils, winning two Champions Leagues and 13 Premier League titles. From 2014 to 2016, Ryan was interim manager and then assistant to Dutch coach Louis Van Gaal.
