The viral moment occurred on the weekend during Fox Sports' live coverage of the U.S.’s 4-1 victory over Paraguay in their Group D opener. Ibrahimovic, alongside French football icon Thierry Henry, was serving as a commentator when IShowSpeed joined the set as a guest.
During the segment, Ibrahimovic turned to the 21-year-old American streamer and asked him to predict the winner of the tournament. Without hesitation, IshowSpeed, a well-known superfan of Ronaldo, replied, "Portugal. Ronaldo winning the World Cup."
Henry looked visibly surprised and turned away in disbelief, while Ibrahimovic took swift action. The Swedish star grabbed the microphone straight out of the streamer's hand, tossed it onto the desk, and gestured IshowSpeed to leave the set.
Despite appearing reluctant to leave, IShowSpeed got up and walked away, but he refused to back down from his claim. As he walked off-camera, he continued to double down on his prediction.
"Hello, watch," IShowSpeed shouted back at the football icons. "Watch him win. Watch him win."
The entire exchange was live-streamed by Speed to his massive audience, and the clip quickly went viral across social media. Fans were entertained by the clash of strong personalities, particularly the contrast between Speed's over-the-top energy, Ibrahimovic's deadpan humor, and Henry's speechless reaction.
While the interaction appeared intense at first glance, viewers quickly noticed Ibrahimovic smiling as Speed walked away, confirming the entire exchange was just playful banter rather than a real confrontation. Earlier in the broadcast, Ibrahimovic had also teased the streamer for his outfit, pointing out that he was wearing a U.S. jersey paired with Nigerian-colored shorts.
IShowSpeed is an internet phenomenon with over 54.4 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 48.2 million followers on Instagram. He skyrocketed to fame through his high-energy football gaming streams and his loud, unwavering admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, frequently wearing the forward's jersey during his streams. He has continued to be a major presence at the 2026 World Cup, recently making headlines with a tournament-themed song titled "World Cup (Champions)."
