Raul Asencio, a 21-year-old Real Madrid center-back, is being investigated with three other players regarding their alleged involvement in distributing sex videos, one of which reportedly involved a minor.

On Feb. 13, a Spanish court rejected a request to drop the investigation into Asencio. This means he can be prosecuted and brought to court if found guilty, according to The Athletic.
The case, which began in the summer of 2023, sees Asencio and three other Real Madrid players, Ferran Ruiz (21), Juan Rodriguez (22) and Andres Garcia (21), accused of sharing a sensitive video via WhatsApp. Police revealed that one of the women in the footage was under 16 at the time.
Authorities arrested Ruiz, Rodriguez and Garcia in September 2023, initially identifying Asencio as a witness. However, his status later changed to a suspect, prompting further investigation.
Real Madrid has not yet issued an official comment, only noting on their website that one B-team player and three from C team were questioned by police in connection with the private video's distribution.
Despite the ongoing investigation, Asencio has remained active on the pitch. Though listed as a B-team player, he has stepped up to fill gaps in Real Madrid's first team, appearing in 22 matches this season. With key defenders Eder Militao, David Alaba, and Antonio Rudiger sidelined by injuries, Asencio has become an important part of the squad.
Most recently, he played a full 90 minutes in Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Manchester City on Feb. 11 in the first leg of the Champions League play-off round.
