Boxing legend Mike Tyson has firmly denied recent speculation that he is suffering from Parkinson’s disease, following comments made by his former opponent, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

The 58-year-old boxing legend's health came under scrutiny after a bout with Paul last year was postponed due to a medical emergency related to an ulcer. In an interview on Sunday, Paul made headlines by suggesting that Tyson used psychedelic drugs to "cure Parkinson's".

Tyson's representatives have refuted these claims, stating: "Mike is happy and perfectly healthy. He doesn't have Parkinson's or any other illness," TMZ reported.

Paul has since clarified his remarks. Speaking on X, he wrote: "Bruh... Mike Tyson didn't have no Parkinsons... WTF. Why the f*** is the internet so stupid for. I misspoke. Meant he used toad to heal his pain. He has spoken about it many times. Just like I do. Just like many do."

The comments initially stemmed from an online interview with YouTuber Adin Ross, during which Jake discussed psychedelic drugs. He referenced Tyson's use of "toad" (a psychedelic substance) to help with healing.

"Ayahuasca is really good for your brain as well. And same with toad!" Paul said. "Toad cured Tyson's Parkinson's so that he could come back and fight."

Tyson, who faced Paul on Nov. 15 last year after recovering from his medical problem, talked about the experience of the fight on social media.

Despite losing to the 28-year-old, Tyson expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return.

"This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful... No regrets to get in ring one last time," he posted on X a day after the fight.

Reflecting on his health struggles, Tyson revealed: "I almost died in June. Had eight blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for."

Known as "Iron Mike" and one of the greatest boxers of all time, Tyson retired in 2005 but returned for an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.
