Vietnam national goalkeeper Dang Van Lam and his wife, fitness coach Bui Thi Yen Xuan, welcomed their first child on Monday after getting married last July.

The couple, who have been together since 2018, shared the joyful news through a series of photos on Lam's social media, receiving warm congratulations from fans and friends alike.

The baby was born at a hospital in HCMC, a few days after Lam helped Ninh Binh secure a 1-0 win against Binh Phuoc FC in the National Cup. Immediately after the match, the 31-year-old keeper traveled more than 100 km from Binh Phuoc to HCMC to be by his wife's side.

The couple has had a long-standing relationship since 2018, often making headlines as they supported each other throughout Lam's career.

Xuan, two years older than Lam, accompanied him during his stints at Muangthong United in Thailand, Cerezo Osaka in Japan, and spent time with Lam's family in Russia. In July 2024, after celebrating six years together, the pair tied the knot in a private ceremony at a resort in Nha Trang with only 18 guests.

As one of Vietnam's most prominent goalkeepers for the past eight years, Lam has enjoyed significant success, including an AFF Cup victory, reaching the Asian Cup quarter-finals, and playing in the World Cup qualifiers.

Despite challenges, including competing for the starting spot with Filip Nguyen in the national team, Lam continued his fine form, helping Ninh Binh remain unbeaten for 10 matches and secure top spots in the V. League 2 and National Cup.
