A 25-year-old university student broke up with Brazilian football legend Romario, 60, after suspecting him of having an affair with her best friend.

According to The Sun, Romario was dating Tiffany Barcelos, a university student majoring in dentistry, for about three months, and frequently seen in public with her, including on trips to destinations like Buenos Aires.

However, a serious conflict arose recently when Romario was suspected of having an affair with Barbara Cavalcanti, Tiffany's close friend.

Photos shared online showed Romario and Cavalcanti vacationing together on Fernando de Noronha Island, a popular Brazilian tourist destination. They were seen spending time with a group of friends and holding hands, immediately fueling rumors of a romantic relationship.

Barcelos did not participate in the island trip.

Just days before the breakup, Barcelos had attended a football match with Romario in Rio de Janeiro.

Barcelos quickly unfollowed both Romario and Cavalcanti across all social media platforms following the breakup. She also deleted all of Romario's previous comments from her posts.

This is not the first time Romario’s love life has attracted public attention. Before his brief romance with Barcelos, he dated 23-year-old student Alicya Gomes and had a brief reunion with his ex-girlfriend Bruna Machado.

Over the past few months, the football icon has been consistently spotted with various women, from Carnival celebrations to restaurants in Rio.

Romario is widely considered one of the greatest strikers of all time, renowned for his exquisite finishing and penalty area sharpness.

According to official figures, Romario scored 768 goals throughout his 24-year career, placing him among the top 10 highest-scoring players in football history. For the Brazil national team, he scored 55 goals in 70 matches, trailing only Neymar, Pele and Ronaldo Nazario.

At the 1994 World Cup, he famously scored five goals to help Brazil secure the title. He was subsequently crowned the FIFA Player of the Year for his performance.

After retiring from professional football, Romario transitioned into a successful career in politics. He became a member of Congress in 2010, was elected as a senator in 2014, and currently represents the Liberal Party.

Outside of politics, he also serves as the president of the football club America-RJ.

The legendary forward has been married and divorced three times and has seven children, including his son Romarinho, who is also a professional footballer.
