Spanish teenage football star Lamine Yamal shared a photo of his injured foot following Barcelona's win over Las Palmas in La Liga, subtly protesting the referee's decision during the game.
After the match on Feb. 22, Yamal took a picture of his blood-stained left foot, posted it on Instagram and sarcastically captioned: "It was not a foul." He added two laughing-crying emojis and an expression of disbelief, highlighting his frustration.
His message referred to a 59th-minute incident when Dario Essugo and Alex Munoz tried to stop him from dribbling. The 17-year-old forward fell to the ground in pain, but referee Cordero Vega did not call it a foul.
Earlier in the match, Alberto Moleiro had also blocked Yamal off the ball but did not get punished.

Despite Las Palmas' physical approach, Yamal remained instrumental in Barcelona's victory. In the 62nd minute, he provided the assist for Dani Olmo's opening goal. Coach Hansi Flick substituted him in the 85th minute, replacing him with Ferran Torres, who later sealed the 2-0 win in stoppage time at 90'+5.
The victory kept Barcelona at the top of La Liga with 54 points, just ahead of Atletico Madrid with 53 points and Real Madrid with 51 points, though the latter still have one game in hand.
Yamal, one of Spain's brightest football talents who played a major role in the country's Euro 2024 triumph, has been a key figure in Barcelona's attack this season, regularly starting alongside Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha. The young Spanish forward has already contributed 11 goals and 17 assists in 33 matches, helping the team win the Spanish Super Cup, lead La Liga, reach the Copa del Rey semifinals and advance to the Champions League round of 16.

It remains uncertain whether Yamal will recover in time for Barcelona's Copa del Rey semifinal first leg against Atletico on Tuesday.
After that, Barca will face a tough schedule, with La Liga matches against Real Sociedad, Osasuna and Atletico Madrid, along with two legs against Benfica in the Champions League.
