Woods was arrested on March 27 on charges including driving under the influence, causing property damage and refusing a mandatory test. After spending about eight hours in custody, the 50-year-old golfer was bailed out.

According to Daily Mail, his girlfriend Vanessa, the former daughter-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, was waiting to speak with him upon his release.

Their initial exchange was positive, but quickly grew tense when the American golfer seemingly downplayed the severity of the issue.

Vanessa reportedly shifted from concern to anger after Woods insisted that "it's under control," despite his legal situation.

Her frustration stemmed from safety concerns, especially given that she is a frequent passenger in cars driven by Woods.

This is not the first time the golf legend has been involved in a serious incident behind the wheel.

In 2009, he crashed into a fire hydrant outside his home. In 2017, he was found asleep in his car on the side of the road following a reaction to painkillers.

Four years later, Woods was involved in a serious car crash in California, fracturing his right leg and requiring extensive surgery.

Sources claim Vanessa viewed Woods' recent behavior as irresponsible and dangerous, demanding assurances that such an incident would never happen again, or she would leave.

Woods' friends had suggested him to hire a private driver for safety reasons, but he has been hesitant due to concerns over personal privacy.

In a statement on X on March 31, Woods wrote that he acknowledged the situation and announced he would step away from competitive golf to seek treatment and focus on his health.

He emphasized his commitment to taking the time needed to return healthier and stronger, requesting privacy for his family.

Woods' ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, has expressed deep concern, hoping Woods will prioritize his health and make the right choices moving forward, People reported.

Woods married Nordegren in 2004. They have two children together before divorcing in 2010 following the highly publicized scandal of his extramarital affairs.

The two have maintained a civil relationship to co-parent their children, even appearing together recently to support their son Charlie at a school golf event.

Woods and Vanessa started dating in late 2024. Just days before the crash, Vanessa and her daughter Kai were seen supporting Woods at a golf event in Florida.
