Vietnam started aggressively, pushing Malaysia deep into their own half and creating early chances.

Despite a dominant record against Malaysia, including a 4-0 win in the group stage, coach Cristiano Roland warned his players against complacency ahead of the final. His side delivered a controlled and disciplined performance at Gelora Delta Stadium in Indonesia.

The breakthrough came in the 11th minute when Dao Quy Vuong reacted quickest to a loose ball from a corner, firing through a crowded penalty area to open the scoring.

Maintaining control throughout the first half, Vietnam doubled their lead in stoppage time.

Nguyen Van Duong finished from close range after sustained pressure, giving his side a comfortable advantage heading into the break.

Vietnam continued to dominate after halftime.

In the 55th minute, Van Duong completed his brace, tapping in from close range after a cross from substitute Tri Dung. The goal was initially ruled offside but was awarded following a VAR review.

The team created further chances to extend the margin, though substitutes were unable to convert.

Malaysia, meanwhile, struggled to generate attacking opportunities, with key players effectively contained by Vietnam's defense.
