Madam Pang greets fans in Vietnamese before arriving in Hanoi

"Hello. I'm very happy to be back in Vietnam again. See you in Hanoi. I will arrive at the airport at 11:50 a.m.," Nualphan Lamsam, also known as Madam Pang, announced on her Facebook in Vietnamese on Wednesday afternoon.

Madam Pang's post attracted the attention of Vietnamese fans, who left many comments welcoming the FAT president and wished her a successful business trip in Vietnam.

After arriving, Madam Pang attended the international friendly match between Vietnam and Thailand U17 women's team, which took place on Thursday afternoon in Hanoi. This friendly match is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Madam Pang, 59, is one of Thailand's most famous businesswomen, currently the president and CEO of Muang Thai Insurance and hails from one of the country’s most prominent business families. From 2015 to 2019, she managed the national women’s team, leading them to the 2015 and 2019 World Cups. She later guided the men’s national team to back-to-back AFF Cup titles in 2020 and 2022. In February 2024, she was elected FAT President, becoming the first woman in Thai history to hold the position.

She has repeatedly left a good impression in the eyes of Vietnamese fans with meaningful actions such as supporting naturalized striker Nguyen Xuan Son after the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final with his hospital bills in Thailand and friendly gestures such as shaking hands with people and bowing to the audience.
