National team defender Vu Van Thanh has popped the question to his girlfriend in a romantic beach setting on his 30th birthday.
The defender posted a series of photos on Tuesday capturing the heartfelt proposal, which quickly garnered blessings from friends and fans alike.
Thanh, 30, is the product of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai - Arsenal JMG Academy.
He has achieved significant success with both the Vietnam U19 and U23 teams, notably winning the 2018 AFF Cup, reaching the finals of the 2018 AFC U23 Championship and the quarterfinals of the 2019 Asian Cup.
Domestically, he played for Hoang Anh Gia Lai from 2015 to 2023 before transferring to Hanoi, where he won the V. League in 2023.
The pair began dating in 2023 but only publicly announcing their relationship in 2025.
Since then, Van Thanh has been openly affectionate, frequently gifting her flowers and presents on special occasions like her birthday and Valentine's Day.
They often share glimpses of their travels, public appearances and loving messages on social media.
